| UCLA's Kevin Love Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week
UCLA forward Kevin Love has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 19-25, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Love, a freshman from Lake Oswego, Ore., averaged over a double-double with 18.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in the Bruins' three wins last weekend leading them to the CBE Classic championship while earning CBE Classic MVP honors. Against Maryland, Kevin Love scored 18 points while shooting 5-12 FGs and 1-2 3FGs. Kevin Love also added 16 rebounds, a UCLA freshman record, to help UCLA win 71-59. The previous record was held by Jelani McCoy and JaRon Rush with 15.
In the 68-63 win versus No. 10 Michigan State, Kevin Love posted 21 points and 11 rebounds, recording his third double-double of the season. He shot 6-15 FGs and 9-12 FTs in the first game this season involving two ranked teams. Against Yale, Kevin Love scored 15 points and added five rebounds in the 81-47 win.
This is the first weekly honor for Kevin Love and UCLA's 46th Player of the Week all-time.
