| Wooden's Condition Improves At Hospital
John Wooden's condition improve again Thursday, and it appears the former UCLA basketball coach will be released from the hospital soon.
"Dad looks better than he did yesterday," daughter Nan Muehlhausen said in a statement. "He is in good spirits. He has been up walking and he had a shave this morning. We are optimistic that he will leave the hospital in the next few days."
The 97-year-old coaching great fell at his home Feb. 28, breaking his left wrist and collarbone. He was hospitalized the following day. His wrist is in a cast and his arm will have to be in a sling when he leaves the hospital.
Wooden coached the Bruins to an unprecedented 10 NCAA championships in a 12-year span before retiring after the 1974-75 season. His teams also had an 88-game winning streak.
The family has requested that people do not attempt to call or visit the hospital or mail items for autographs.
